TIFFANY WU, Director, DEI at Anywhere Real Estate, Inc.

Tiffany is a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Anywhere Real Estate, Inc., and leads the strategic direction of Anywhere’s vibrant employee resource groups (ERGs). She works to align external and internal DEI goals to drive inclusion across the enterprise and real estate industry.

Her experience defending fair housing claims as a real estate attorney informed her passion for championing diversity in real estate. She served as the chief DEI executive for Texas Realtors, pioneering the association’s most innovative initiatives to empower diverse talent, and providing DEI thought-leadership to a network of 70+ local associations.

Prior to joining Anywhere, Tiffany was a DEI advisor at Catalyst, Inc., and partnered with companies such as Uber, United Health Group, and Verizon to make workplaces work for women.

Tiffany is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds a juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. She resides in Seattle, Washington with her husband and daughter. When not at her desk, she enjoys exploring new places through food.

What attracted you to join Anywhere?

The culture.

I knew of Anywhere and its leaders through my work with Realtor associations and industry trade partners. DEI wasn’t a checkbox or performative– it was part of who they are. Then a dear friend (and Coldwell Banker agent!) gave me the nudge I needed to explore the opportunity more fully. She is what moved me and shows the power of women supporting women.

What inspired you to take a career in the DEI space?

I was leaving the courthouse and felt so low. It was an eviction case, a jury trial, and I had won. Someone was losing their home and I contributed to that. The leasing side of real estate is a stark look at the barriers to homeownership, bias within the industry, and systemic inequities in policy and law. I wanted to be on the other side of that conversation and work towards solutions.

As a woman leader, what is your best piece of advice to up and coming women leaders?

Focus on transferable skills over titles and prioritize what fulfills you. Sometimes that means your path isn’t linear and you have to stretch beyond your current role to find those opportunities. That’s what I admire about our ERG leaders. They volunteer their time to drive Anywhere’s culture of inclusion and gain leadership capabilities while doing so. That ownership of their personal and professional journey marks the growth mindset of a change-maker.

What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

To spark a collective purpose around making real estate inclusive for all. Everyone in our industry is literally changing lives because homeownership is transformative. Where you live dictates health outcomes, education options, social well-being, economic opportunities, and so much more. With the power to impact at that level, we have a responsibility to create fair access. To do that, we must embed DEI in everything we touch.
